1207 S Orange Drive, in the heart of Miracle Mile. If you're moving to LA for work, you already know the two bad options. The furnished corporate rental that feels like an upscale hotel room someone forgot to give a soul. Or the empty year-long lease on a place you have to furnish, wire, and sort out before you can even start the job. One has no warmth. The other has no flexibility. Neither feels like a home. Then you open the door to this one. The light hits you first, pouring through the double pane windows and washing every room, and right behind it comes the quiet, the kind you don't expect from a street minutes from The Grove. It's a 1920s house with real soul, reimagined top to bottom by Bunch Design, the acclaimed LA studio whose work lives in Dwell and the LA Times. The original character was kept, the Batchelder fireplace, the period lines, while everything behind the walls, the plumbing, electrical, and HVAC, was made new. Two levels, an easy indoor-outdoor flow, and a garden out back that behaves like it's miles from the city: fruit trees, fresh herbs by the kitchen, hummingbirds and butterflies drifting through in the afternoon. Picture the actual days here. Morning coffee on the top-floor balcony with Beverly Hills and the Hollywood sign in the distance. A focused Zoom call from a real home office with fast WiFi. Dinner out of the chef's kitchen, then a long evening on the patio lounge under soft light with the eight-burner grill still warm. And when you want the city, it's all right there: an easy stroll to LACMA and the museums, five minutes to Melrose, the Grove, Cedars-Sinai and the studios, and fifteen to twenty-five to Culver City, Santa Monica, Playa Vista and Silicon Beach, with a new Metro station a ten-minute walk up Wilshire. Central to everything, and somehow above the noise of all of it. Here's what makes this one genuinely rare, and it's the part most rentals get backwards. Most furnished homes hand you their furniture, their timeline, their terms, take it or leave it. This one flips that. Take it fully furnished in a collected mix of Art Deco, Hollywood Regency and Mid-Century that took years to assemble, take part of it, or bring your own and make the place entirely yours. Lease it for a single month or for three years, on your schedule instead of a landlord's. Biweekly housekeeping is handled, the beds are already dressed in the finest linens, the office is ready, the WiFi is fast. You could land in LA in the morning and be genuinely home, and back to work, by that evening. That flexibility is exactly why this home fits the people who need it most: an executive relocating for a role, a family rebuilding after a loss, talent and their team in town for a project, a physician on assignment, or anyone who wants a beautiful, serene home base with none of the friction. A designer home like this, on terms this open, in a neighborhood this protected and this central, does not come along often. Come walk through the door once, feel the light and the quiet, and you'll understand. Shown by appointment. Furnished or unfurnished, one month to three years, pets welcome.
